I recently paid 200 dollars to report the following problem to Avid Support. When I say recently I mean on August 1st 2013.
I am using MC6.5.3. The platform is Mac 10.7.5 I am working with a multi camera show. 4 cameras all with the same timecode. After all the elements are ingested I need to MULTIGROUP all my material. Multiple scenes with multiple takes & multiple cameras. in addition we use a Fostek machine to record eight tracks of discreet audio(.Wav files). All of these elements have common timecode. Multigrouping is essential to make the footage manageable.
On MC4.0.3 as well as all previous versions of MC the Multigrouping function worked perfectly. Starting with MC 5 the DVD audio delivered by the Fostek machine(.Wav Files) no longer syncs up with the Cameras in the Multigroup. If the Multigroup function is used with just the cameras it works perfectly. It is when the .Wav files from the Fostek are added to the bin that things seem to go sour.
The imported audio always comes up 3 to 5 seconds out of sync with the cameras. It is like the "sync using source timecode" setting is being ignored and it is using start of clip instead.
I should also mention that I am in a 23.976p NTSC project. The files from the Fostek are imported at 29.97NDF when prompted.
At the risk of sounding redundant MC4.0.5 work perfectly.
does anyone at all know anything about this problem or a workaround?
