I was just asked to help out on a project that will be edited in MC 7. I wanted to check to see if I have the information correct, as it seems like this will be a long term project ( a doc) that twill come to life, be put on hold for shooting, and so on.
The cameras used so far are the Canon 7D and 600D. Here is what I am considering:
Using AMA to link to the volumes, transcode
(I only get these options: DNxHD 444 350 MXF, 1:1 10b RGB MXF, Apple Pro Res 4444 MXF...I get more options if I change the project to YCbCr 709, but this will change the color space to something other than what is desired for an HD workflow for TV, is this correct?).
Will this be an issue if the director ever needs to consolidate / move media? I've read there are some issues with AMA and consolidation on MC 7.
Would he be better off to use the import function?
The intent is for this to be on broadcast TV (in HD) at some point, if the stars align in the right path.
Sorry for the noob questions, but most of my work is for the internet. I haven't worked with TV since the days of tape.
