Is Frameflex the only way to punch in to a high res file without losing resolution?

Hi guys,

We are working with 4k RED files and I'm curious as to whether Frame flex is the only way to make use of all the available resolution, if we need to punch in? Or can we use an effect such as resize and still get the same benefits? I am hoping that FrameFlex is just one way to do this and the more important feature is that we can work with the entire resolution as in Premiere.

We have just finished a multicam edit using 4k files and the client has decided he would like to punch in quite dramaticaly on some of the shots. I have tried using Frameflex on the original ama clips, but it doesn't seem to update in the group clips. If I match frame from the group I can see them looking punched in, however the grouped clips in the sequence just don't show it.

Any thoughts?
