just wondering how many industry based Avid editing systems have internet access enabled on them?
I have been avoiding doing that here in Edu-land [Goldsmiths, university of London] for some time, even though we are Mac based. I still remember the mac worm that got onsomeon'es zip drive and infected all our suites back in the 90's!
Students want it enabled on the edit Mac Pros, to use dropbox, webmail, youtube uploads etc. I have always stuck by the 'industry practice' of keeping that stuff to a separate 'client machine', but I'm wondering if industry practice has change?
Any thoughts or feedback appreciated!
