Problem with Avid DS subtitles header

Hello all,

I recently got an Avid DS subtitles file that contains a header section.

I tried to import it, but although "text boxes" appeared on the track I had applied subcap effect to, they were all empty.

I thought that probably there was an error somewhere inside the header parameters, so I started searching in Avid Community and I found the following example of an Avid DS subtitles file that contains a header with all the parameters that can be defined in it:

@ This is a DS Subtitles file that contains a full header section.

Bob, are you there?

00:00:04:18 00:00:06:13

Yes Sam.

Just behind the car.

00:00:07:04 00:00:09:20

It's too dark here.

And it smells gazoline.

00:00:10:15 00:00:11:19

I'm cold.

Let's get out of here

before it's too late!

<end subtitles>

I tried to import this file and all subtitles were imported correctly, but all the parameter values specified in the header, were completely ignored. I tried many different values on some parameters (especially font, style and size) but everytime they were ignored and the default values were applied.

Can anybody please tell me if there is anything wrong with the sample subtitles above, or if I have to change some setting on Avid before I try to import such a file?

Also, is there a way to export Avid DS subtitles with a header including this kind of information, from Avid?

I can't find anything relevant, when I try to export from Subcap...

I'm working on Media Composer 5.0.43

Thank you in advance,

Xenophon
