PC Hardware optimized for Avid MC - question

I'm about ready to upgrade to a new desktop PC. The old one is outdated, slow, and rife with too many surprises (bluescreen errors, etc, etc,)

I'd like to go top of the line (or relatively close), at every turn, so I'll be good to go for many years to come. I want to speed demon through my HD footage, multitask , and conquor any heavy duty project I throw at it like a champion.

And I'd love to get a great deal, and not pay too much in the process. Any advice, and recommendations on hardware, and where to purchase would be highly appreciated. Below are some would-be specs I threw together with minimal effort, and research that I could really use some feedback on:

Intel Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition Sandy Bridge-E 3.5GHz (4.0GHz Turbo) Six-Core Prosessor

Corsair H80 Cooling Hydro, extra quiet Liquid Cooling System

64GB (8x8GB) PC17000 DDR3 2133 Quad Channel (high performance memory)

AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB PCI Express 16x dual head DVI, HDMI

500.0 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA3 6GB/s 16m cache

LG 22x DVD Recorder Dual Layer +R/RW -R/RW

ASUS Xonar Essence STX PCI express sound card

Ethernet network adapter (onboard)

Apevia X-Dreamer-4 Silver and Blue, front USB 2.0 & 3.0, Temp. display, Hot swap HDD

Corsair 750W ultra quiet ATX Power Supply, SLI & X-fire ready
