My USB Sony SxS card reader is starting to have problems and I'm not looking forward to replacing it at $250. MC is having trouble AMA linking to the card in the reader. I'm also having trouble getting the Sony browser to work with the reader. I reinstalled the device driver, but the problem still persists. I can link to AMA files copied to a hard drive, so I don't think the problem is with MC. Since the problem just started recently and I haven't changed anything on my system, I suspect the card reader is starting to fail.
I can still use the reader to copy the BPAV folder to a hard drive, but the USB reader is slow and copying the files seems to take just as long as transcoding the AMA files. Before I spend $$$ for a new Sony reader, I'm wondering if anyone uses a reliable internal SxS card reader that can be installed in a PC workstation so I can AMA link directly to the SxS cards?
