I've been having a problem several times a day where avid is hanging/freezing (beach ball) about every hour and I have to force quit. At first I thought this may have been due to my system not being able to handle 7.0.2 so I went back to 6.5.4 but am still having the same problem. I'm on a 2009 iMac with 8gb ram running 10.8.5. Running off external storage via firewire (avid projects are on iMac local drive).
This has happened in projects with DNxHD footage as well as SD offline projects. At first I thought it was due to an external raid enclosure but it still happens in projects where I'm not using that drive (and it's disconnected). Can anyone suggest some troubleshooting ideas?
