Hi everyone,
Long time Final Cut user here who finally switched (and fell in love) but I am having some very odd issues that I was hoping you might be able to help me with.
So I installed MC7, got everything up and running, and started work on my first project in it. Everything works from a tools persepctive. But as I work, the program constantly "freezes"when I open new boxes. Lets say I hit my shortcut to move to effects editing - nothing will happen. But that is not the truly bizarre part. The way I make everything go through is by hitting save. So to recap, I'll be in (for example) source record, and switch to effects editing. Nothing will happen, MC7 will be apparently un-responsive to the command I just gave it. But if I hit command+s, MC7 will save and as it does all of the effects windows/etc ( my effects editing setup) will suddenly appear. It's almost as if MC7 is frozen until I hit save or command+Q (this also works, I then just hit cancel) which is incredibly annoying. And it does it for anything requiring a dialogue box opening. Lets say I open a new bin. Nothing. Hit save, and suddenly it pops up.
Please let me know if that was too confusing, I'll try and explain better. It is just an extremely bizarre problem to be having and incredibly disruptive to a workflow.
I'm running a 2011 Macbook Pro with 16 gb RAM, 2.7 ghz (which jumps to 3.2 when I run it hard) and 750 solid state harddrive. In short, my computer should be able to handle Avid just fine - MC7 has also crashed on me 5-6 times in the last 3 weeks, something I had also never experienced working with it in a lab this summer.
Thanks for the help in advance, sorry that got so long.
(P.S. - I know I saw a forum on it, but freaking horizontal scrolling with a trackpad/mouse needs to come back in the next update because thats crazy).
