All of a sudden this is pops up when I start up MC 5.0.3 on Vista: "Please wait while Windows Configures Avid Media Composer". I click cancel and MC continues to bootup. However, my one project--of course the one that I need to work on--crashes MC when I try to open it. I haven't touched this project in 3-4 weeks. I tried replacing it with a backup copy that I had made at the time, as well as a backup made earlier in the summer. Both crash. Stranger still, when I try to open that project's bins in another project, MC crashes. I even tried copying the bin file itself to another project and renamed; the project opened but when I tried to open the bin it crashed. The other projects on my system seem to be OK.
Avid's article on the "Please wait while windows configures..." issue says to make sure the Donglecheck file is in the correct folder. It is, and I even replaced it with the one you can download from the article.
