FilmScribe can't handle nested effects anymore? Seriously?

Older versions of FilmScribe had no trouble working on sequences with nested effects.  But in recent versions, if you have so much as a single nested effect in your sequence, FilmScribe will refuse to generate any sort of list with the message "Cannot create XML scan list for sequences containing nested effects."  Well, maybe it can't, but it could if it weren't brain dead.  It could simply use the clip information for the topmost layer in the nest.  It could just mark the clip as having unknown info.  Heck, it could even treat it as filler and pretend it doesn't exist for all I care.  But simply refusing to generate any sort of list whatsoever is just a giant bucket of fail.

I know that older versions of FilmScribe could digest sequences with nested effects, because I used to do it all the time for the exact same reason I need to do it now.  So the fact that new versions of FilmScribe are LESS functional by design is an additional fail on the part of Avid.  I'm not even really interested in the contents of the nested effects.  I just need to get a list of all the shots and locators in the current cut to put into a database, but if I had to do without the contents of the nested effects I'd be fine.  Sure, I could go through and take out all the offending clips.  But this is a list I need to make every week or so--I don't want to have to go through and remove all the nested effects just for that!

Not to mention that this makes it a bit puzzling that when you create a new track while stepped into a sequence, Media Composer advises you that "FilmScribe will not represent tracks nested at this level."  Isn't it kinda moot whether or not it will represent the nested tracks, since it just plain won't run on the sequence in the first place?

Yeah, I know this is pretty much just a rant, but I had to vent somewhere.  But c'mon Avid, please stop making things harder for me!
