Hello !
Know the AMA have been a long discussed subject in this forum, but I didn't find any answer to the specific problem I encounter.
Here is the thing: After an editing in Avid, my project was color graded in Da Vinci Resolve 10. The colorist output some Quicktime Prores 4444 files with handles and the corresponding AAF. For some reasons, it was decided the final output will be in Prores 4444, but for the finishing, I'd like to import these files back into the Avid, perform few things like adding subtitles with subcap and so on, and output final from Avid, in one word: keep working on the same NLE environment is more convenient to me than having to switch to another soft.
So I import the AAF into my edit project (which was switch to RGB 709 for the purpose), It load an offline sequence and all the offline files used in it. Then, when I try to relink these offline master clips, or the sequence itself with AMA, no matter how, they remain offline, Avid just create new AMA files, with the same exact name, same exact TC than the offline one's but refuse to relink offline master clips to online files I'm pointing...
Am I missing something ? Is that a known limitation not to be able to conform an edit with AMA files in it ? Or should I adopt a more basic EDL output from Da Vinci ? Or is this workflow totally wrong anyway ?
Any suggestion will be appreciate.
