Isis 4.5 breaks Final Cut Pro 7 support

Hello all-

Figured I would share this so you all don't learn the hard way:

I just upgraded two Isis 5000 System Directors from 4.0 to 4.5, and the associated clients as well. We have all Mac clients in our environment running OS 10.8.4 and Isis Client Manager 4.5.0.12085.

Like many facilities we have a mix of Media Composer editors and Final Cut Pro 7 editors. Isis 4.0 supported FCP 7 without (too many) issues, though despite the assurance of the v4.5 ReadMe, this apparently is no longer the case.

Render files written to Isis 4.5 workspaces spontaneously disappear and thus result in a 'Not Found' error in FCP. It appears to be an issue only with newly rendered media. Existing files (files written prior to the upgrade) stay put, and so far, it only looks like a problem with renders.

The problem affects old and new workspaces, and does not appear to be related to the workspace name or the name of the sequence or project. New preferences and settings don't appear to help either.

Avid Support is already aware of the problem, but has yet to notify any of their subscribers or update any of their documentation.

Back-revving the System Directors doesn't sound like a safe or viable option, so we're stuck rendering to local drives, and re-rendereing the same material on every machine necessary. Needless to say, a step backward.

I'd appreciate it if anybody can confirm this behavior on an equivalent system. Better yet, let me know if you've found a fix or workaround.

Thanks,

Ryan
