MC introducing banding into images

I have some fairly dark images with vignettes on them that I've rendered from da Vinci resolve. In resolve they look fine, and if I render quicktimes of them and watch them through media express they look fine (DNxHD 175 and/or 175 X - same codec as I'm using for the mxf exports). However, once the files are in media composer - whether relinked or linked via AMA, 8-bit, 10-bit, 1:1, or DNxHD, Media Composer introduces fairly noticeable banding in the vignette - I can't figure out for the life of me why. I wouldn't mind terribly, but it bakes it into the file after exporting (although it seems like it only bakes in the banding near dissolves). Why would media composer be introducing this banding? It's only really noticeable on monitors that are a little too bright, but it looks terrible in those instances. And this is occuring on the same exact files. Look at them through media express = fine. Link via AMA in media composer = severe banding. The levels are set to normally scaled and everything looks correct on the internal scopes. How on earth can I get around this?
