I am converting to Avid from Final Cut Pro 7. I just moved to LA area and took the "day job" to stay alive while trying to get hired as an AE. I need to learn fast and well. Are 1-on-1 tutorials in-person better than online classes, if my goal is to become "hireable" sooner than later? I've found a guy who charges $100/hr. Do you think it's better to throw about $500 into that to start, and then immersing myself in the system at home? I have to work "the 8-6 job" to keep myself afloat and money is a bit of an issue.
I still need to buy the latest Avid system. Currently running FCP7 and CS5 on a Mac OSX 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 23". Thanks for your help!
