Moderators, if this thread is inappropriate, please feel free to delete it and let me know if there is a better place to report these issues. We had one of these a while back for 6.5 or something and it was pretty useful for seeing what issues are bugs and what issues are unique to our systems.
I thought I would set up a thread for bugs that I have encountered (and reproduced) in Avid 7.0.3. This thread is not for "HELP I CANNOT WORK" panic stuff, but instead for a place that we can list some bugs or issues, people who have solved them can mention their solutions, and perhaps these may get resolved in future releases. The idea here is to help the engineers, not harass them, so please keep that in mind. This is more for us everyday editors to track/report.
I have noticed most of the below issues since 7.0 launched and didn't think creating multiple threads would be very efficient.
- When selecting all left or right with an in and an out marked it won't segment move the cips. If moved with the mouse, nothing happens, and if shifted with the keyboard shortcuts, it slips the clips instead of moving - can cause sync problems if you don't catch it.
- Assigning Select In/Out to the keyboard selects In/Out, but doesn't function the same as if the button is clicked. Forexample, if you use the keyboard shortcut, then try to move the selection with the segment tool, it only moves the clip you clicked on, not the whole selection. When you click the Selct In/Out Button in the fast menu and perform the same action, it reacts as expected by dragging the whole selection.
- AMPI error when in trim mode, leads to segmentation fault and requires a full reboot. The crash is annoying but the full reboot is thoroughly perplexing. Not even logging out and in works.
- Bins "stick" to the mouse and can then jump folders randomly. Not sure how or why this one happens but it does.
- Cannot rename layers/objects in the layer panel in Marquee
- Resizing a bin by grabbing the left side of the window causes it to shake/vibrate
- Clicking on the Avid Editor Services button above the timeline while playing back causes Avid to crash, regardless of whether AES is running or not. Obvioulsy this is not something you would do normally, it is always accidental, but a missed click should probably shouldn't cause the whole application to crash.
- Audio Mixer and AudioSuite windows continually open in the top left corner of my second monitor every time a workspace is reloaded. If they are then moved and closed, they'll open in the same area the next time they are opened, but they will revert to the top left corner whenever the workspace is changed. Moving them and saving the workspace doesn't have any effect.
I am on MC 7.0.3 on 10.8.4.
