Avid Media Composer v6.5.4.1 and Avid Symphony v6.5.4.1 updates have been released on the Download Center "Editor Patches" area (password and login are required to access the Download Center).
Who is Eligible:
Customers running v6.5.x are eligible to download and install the updates.
OS Support:
v6.5.4.1 supports OS 10.7.4 and 10.7.5 (Lion); 10.8.2, 10.8.3 and 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion)and introduces support for OS X 10.9 and 10.9.1 (Mavericks).
Special Note about OS X 10.9 (Mavericks):
You must uninstall your previous version of editing application using the Avid Uninstallers located in your Applications folder before installing the new version. If you had upgraded your system to Mavericks on an editing version prior to v6.5.4.1 the uninstaller for that previous editing application will NOT uninstall the editing application successfully. To resolve this, use the uninstaller included in your v6.5.4.1 editor download to uninstall the previous version of the editing application.
Fixes in v6.5.4:
There are over 50 fixes in this release so customers on 6.5.x are strongly encouraged to upgrade.
Important v7 information!
The
v6.5.4 release is recommended for those customers who need to
exchange bins and projects created in Media
Composer v7.
