Intermittent Marked Areas on timeline

I was hoping for an exact answer. I kind of think I know, but not 100% and when people ask me, I don't want to mislead them.

This is all one clip I laid down on the timeline. But when I select in to out, I get this on and off marked clip range. Any ideas why this is?

I believe it is because when the material was recorded on a camera, this is where the disks swap? Or change up somehow? So even though this is all one clip, AVID is showing where they are connected somehow? Am I completely off?
