Been having big problems. My media composer 7.0.3 crashes on startup. Every time.
The first machine to bite the bullet was an old macpro (I believe 2009 edition) running on mavericks. (Yes I know. Bad idea. Have spanked the people responsible for updating...) Suddenly media composer just wouldnt fire. I noticed it was stalling when on the initialize AVX2 bit on the splashscreen. Tried different things. Complete uninstall and reinstall. Cleaning up the AVX folder, removing unwanted plugins. Searching forums. Looked at gfx card drivers, seemed to be ok. Stared into the abyss that is my soul.
When the void started staring back at me I moved me and my project to a different machine. Was ok for a couple of days. And then. When switching between projects, the AVX Crash was back. This time on my iMac, only 6 months old, running OSX 10.8.5. I am gobsmacked. And bewildered. Gobsmackedness and bewilderment soon turned into anguish and self-doubt. What on gods forsaken earth did I do to cause this? Do I even dare move to a third computer? Where can I get cake at two in the morning?
The _only_ common denominator here is installing two fonts. (I uninstalled them. Nothing changed.) And of course the project itself. And me. And the dark rumbling laughter of the abyss.
By the time you read this I have most likely turned to desperate measures such as running malware searches. And cake. Please help.
