Create a bin that DOES NOT get checked-in?

I'm trying to make myself a bin, just a dummy bin that contains elements, that does not get checked into interplay.

It doesn't matter where I save a bin (either in Shared Projects, or on a local desktop), everytime I close it, Avid manages to check in that bin.  

I feel like an idiot because I have a bunch of random "Stu EDITOR ELEMENTS" or "Stu Secret Stash" bins that contain various effects and master clips I want to keep in my back pocket, but not clog up the Interplay's project folders.

Any advice would be very helpful.
