EDL Manager Fails to Open (or Uninstall)

I'm running Avid 5.5.3.19035 (5.5.3) on a Mac Pro 2.66 Quad-Core Intel Xeon, running OSX 10.6.8.

When I try to open EDL Manager, I get the spinning wheel of death, and have to force quit the program. This happens whether I try to launch the program through Avid, from the applications folder, or via the dock.

I have tried uninstalling EDL Manager, thinking maybe the program got corrupted and needed to be re-installed. However when I run the EDL Manager uninstall, I get the message, "Error: uninstall failed".

Checking on the finder level post "uninstall" some of the files are gone from the EDL Manager folder, but others remain. When I open the Avid Media Composer .pkg file I am able to reinstall EDL Manager, but it still fails to actually launch the program.
