Audio Tool: Are there fader modes?

Hey,

I am wanting to use the Audio Tool within MC to adjust the overal level of an audio track, however, any fader movement I make only apply to the clip the playhead is hovering over at the time. I am new to media composer from a Pro Tools background. This probelm can be descibed as the 'write' or 'latch' function on a fader instead of 'read'.

Can I change the operation of a fader so that it will apply to the overal gain of a track rather than individual clips? Or should I be using a different tool to do this?
