Exception: cannot access the AMA media stream plug in to play this clip

I've upgraded my 2009 Macbook Pro to Mavericks and from version MC 6.0.? to MC 7.0.3 in anticipation of my new MacPro due in a few weeks...hopefully..... I know I'm operating outside of the curve so to speak but was interested to see if MC 7.0.3 would still run on my old mac book and give me extra flexibility for the field - well it does work - slow to load etc but been doing some basic editing. I just can't link my XF305 clips.....can AMA link my GH3 media.

I've been reading the many posts around this issue. I've been getting the error message 'Exception: cannot access the AMA media stream plug in to play this clip' when i go to play some previous XF305 media. I've tried installing the MXF AMA Plug-In v1.7.2 for Mac but i get the error message 'No compatible editor is found. This AMA installer is compatible with MC 5.5.1 to 6.5.0.' Seeing as MC v7 does not come with the MXF plug in installed I cant work out how to get around it. When I install the MSP_MXF.avx the MC asks me to remove the plug in on start up....

Unfortunately my back up clone seems to have failed so no going back to OSX lion and MC6.0 to load the old mxf plug in....so my sense of adventure has turned into something more.....

I tried installing 'all available AMA plug ins' as was mentioned on a previous suggestion but that just stopped this MC starting up.

Would appreciate any suggestions to help get my 305 media AMA linking....and how to get a mxf plug in working on MC7.0.3 that's jumped from MC6.0.?

Cheers

Julian
