I'm experiencing choppy playback in MC 7 using AVCHD. Im working on a Z800 with (2) 2.4Ghz processors, Nvidia FX 5800, 12 gigs ram, and a (3) disk raid. I have not really noticed the problem untill recently when working on a recent project. When you preview clips system hangs screen flickers as system trys to catch up. The response is less than fluid when trying to start and stop footage.
Here is a little more info on some of the workarounds I tried this weekend. I used a AJA Ki Pro Mini with Dnxhd codec 220, 145, 100. The Dnxhd 100 seemed to preform the best, but only when importing the clips and not using AMA linking. There was still choppy playback.
I tried importing AVCHD into Dnxhd problem still existed but was not as bad as using AMA to link to the files. Still a problem.
I also tried importing some animated image sequences to Dnxhd 100 without alpha. This worked the best but sometimes the import was fast and sometimes I had to stop the import. This was based on short sequences under 60 seconds.
Has anyone expereinced the same problems and is there a fix?
