Just a thought. Why can't Avid Media Composer just forget about filler. At this time you always have to select the empty space between clips to move clips around. If you don't select them, the clips won't move. Especially filler before a clip is annoying because if you move the clip forward, the selected filler would overwrite clips.
So, forget about filler, it's just air, it doesn't exist.
