Folks: Thanks again for the forums. They are a great help. My issue is with what appears to be Avid’s AVI file size limitations. Since the vast majority of the presets halt in mid-export on anything longer than 30 seconds or so, I’m reading I need to export as another format and then transcode. These are projects I do for a weekly TV movie review show so I’m looking to finalize to a decent-quality file and do so as quickly as possible (I’d rather not have to import and link media, sync it, cut it, lay on effects, render it, mix it all down, export it, then have to transcode it, too – this is taking about two hours for every two minute final clip). Here are my two questions – Other posts suggest exporting my Timeline as a Quicktime Reference then using Sorenson Squeeze to transcode to an AVI (or MPEG-2, which my broadcast station suggests). However when I try to export to the QTR, Avid immediately tells me I cannot do this because my Timeline includes media that is AMA linked. Any way around this (barring a Video and Audio mixdown)? Lately I’ve been exporting as an uncompressed Quicktime and then transcoding it in Sorenson. Looks and works great but doing this one file at a time takes forever. Does anyone know if I can batch- transcode using Squeeze? This way I could take all of my clips (usually ten-twenty of them per show), drop them into Squeeze and walk away. Any advice will, as always, be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Tom
