Folks:
As always, thanks for the great forum and whatever help you might provide. Here's my issue today -
I recently purchased a Sony NX70U HD camcorder which stores files in AVCHD format. One minor issue is that it seems to record in bursts of a few minutes, so if I'm recording an interview it saves for let's say three minutes then breaks into another save file, and I lose a second or two of the shot/interview. If anyone knows the NX70U, is there a way to make it record in a single clip?
Of MUCH greater importance to me is that I was told Media Composer 6+ would import native AVCHD, eliminating my need to transcode the original AVCHD files into Quicktime (which seems to lose sync and is a hassle anyway). Well, I bit the bullet and bought MC6.5 but when I try to import the native AVCHD files Avid says, "This type of MPEG file is not supported."
Great! Buy a program for the sole purpose of importing a certain type of file (told by Avid it would work) and it doesn't. Suggestions?
Thanks! Tom
