Working on a project that has passed through several post houses and MC versions. It was migrated from terrablock to local drives, then to ISIS/Interplay. Now it is uprez time, but large amounts of the source media was AMA'ed to .mov files with no metadata. Many of these files have no "Source File", "Source Path", "Disk Label", or "Tape" information. Additionally, some of the files have gone through a transcode and potentially multiple consolidations (yah, i know.)
In an interplay environment, what are the ramifications of adding tape names using the modify function to the source AMA clip and the .new clip to attempt to force a relink? Note that we have tried to relink using all available options, but have had no luck with the clips that fit this specific condition (no source ID information.)
It may also be worth mentioning that we have tried this in regular workgroup mode with AMA clips that have valid source info andwere unable to get ANY .new clips to relink to their AMA sources. We had to enable "workgroupoverride" in the console in order to get AMA relink to work at all. We have discovered that if we relink in standalone mode, then restart MC in workgroup mode and transcode the AMA linked reference clips, we can use Multirez/dynamic relink correctly.
currently at MC v6.5.3/v6.5.4, ISIS 2.1, IP Production v2.5 w/v2.7 indexers.
