Optimize z420: DOs and DON'Ts

I suspect that I messed up the pre-installed Win7 on a new z420 - and I don't know why. The system is not booting sometimes, it crashed twice, Avid crashed twice, too.

I hope to get some advice here that will prevent me from doing the same mistake again!

Specs/Config
128gb SSD on SATA300 (OS+applications), 2tb HDD on SATA300 (Data misc), 2x2tb HDDs in RAID0  on SATA600 (Avid MediaFiles), NVIDIA Quadro 2000D, AJA Io Express, Xeon E5-1650 3.2 GHz, 32GB Ram,
Win7 pro 64bit. No network or internet connection.

OS and RAID 0 are pre-installed/configured by HP's reseller.

What I do (roughly):

run EdPrep
follow the avid config guide for z420:
- required system BIOS changes
- optimize Nvidia driver setting
- set Windows “Visual Effects” for “best performance”
followed Avid's "Optimizations for Video Editors - Windows 7"
set design to windows classic
optimize power scheme
install correct NVIDIA driver
remove autostart entries
disable unneccessary windows functions
disable some background services
install all applications
clean up with CCleaner (Win+applications, registry, startup)

Is there anything you won't do?

How do you exactly configure, optimize and tweak HP z420 with for the use with Avid MC 7?
What are your DOs and DON'Ts?

TIA
jade
