How to Copy part of a sequence from a project to a similar back up project ?

Hi

Today I ruined my sequence  by trying to move some segments that at the end messed up everything almost from the begging of a 50 minutes sequence.  But have the back up project that i already replaced in my Avid project folder.

The back up project includes the sequence without yesterday's work. So i want to copy paste all the recent edit work (from the ruined sequence in the old project) in the saved back up project sequence.

I know is not possible to open more than one project on avid. I tried to open the old project + copy paste the segment i want to add in the new + close the project and open the new one and paste , but it didn't work>

I also tried to import the old project sequence bin , but it didn't allow me.

I know it was my fault not to have duplicated sequences in my project when i ruined it. I had some but duplicated sequences from several days ago and it would imply re-working a lot or replacing a lot.

Guys , please help me:

How can i take the latest edit work from a project sequence and paste it into the new similar project sequence?

Working on Avid Media Composer 5 on a macpro with avid mojo sdi
